Dada Lekhraj Kripalani, known as Brahma Baba, was the founder of the Brahma Kumaris organisation. He was born in 1876 in Sindh (now Pakistan) and became a successful diamond merchant before undergoing a profound spiritual transformation in the 1930s.

In 1936, Dada Lekhraj experienced a series of powerful spiritual visions that changed the course of his life. He gave up his successful business to dedicate his time, energy and wealth to spiritual renewal work. The founding committee established in 1937 comprised eight young women, reflecting his deep commitment to female leadership.

Brahma Baba led the community from Hyderabad to Karachi and eventually to Mount Abu, India, where the organisation established its permanent headquarters in 1950. He passed in 1969, leaving behind a global spiritual movement that continues to grow.
